de la Catessen

9 Anster Street

South Australia

Since 2005 de la Catessen has hosted over 200 concerts focussing especially on experimental and esoteric fields of musical performance, along with chamber music, readings, and  installations, with a general aim of representing the under-represented. It is the only venue of its kind in Adelaide and has established itself as a hub of activity for local sound artists, performers, and composers, as well as a venue for visiting musicians.

De la Catessen is an independent artist-run space thus free from the agendas and project templates of the state arts funding body (see below).

  6. RIP De La Catessen 2005-2009

Luke, I extend my sincere gratitude to you for maintaining this venue over the past four years, it was one of the most important music/art venues to grace the inner perimeter of Adelaide and was vital in promoting and fostering experimental music in this city. I thank you for providing me with the opportunity to host the Tyndall Assembly concerts, occasionally perform and engage with the Deli’s diverse, engaging audiences.

  7. Oh that Arts SA banner is very funny …. And if you only just skim it, you may miss the joke. Great archive …
